Dairy Farm Worker

We are looking for milkers to join our team and also somebody part time to feed cows every 2nd weekend with the option for some days through the week. We are located near Annan, Dumfries and Galloway.

We milk 900 high yielding cows across 2 sites with another 800 head of youngstock all housed and looked after by ourselves. Cows are housed all year with cows calving all year round aswell. We have a high attention to detail and make sure we provide the highest standard of animal health and welfare possible.

Milkers

This role involves working within a team of 2 people milking cows between our 2 sites. A shift at each farm lasts roughly 3.5 hours. The shift start times for this are 4.15am, 8.15am and 12.15am. This role can be full time or time time. Self employed also considered. High attention to detail along with good time keeping are important for this role. Experience is not necessary but would be beneficial. This role could develop further within the business to other duties if the successful applicant is keen and willing to further enhance their skills within the dairy industry. Experience of driving a small telehandler or skid steer would be beneficial as this would open up the role for scraping out\bedding cows also.

Part time feeder wagon operator

For this role we are looking for someone to come in every 2nd weekend and feed our dry cows, youngstock, make a premix and also bring forage back to the main farm. We use CowConnect so we have a tablet within the JCB that shows how much of each ingredient is needed. We have a 36 cube BVL triple auger feeder wagon and Massey Ferguson tractor for feeding the cows. Start time for this role would be 7.30am and the work should roughly take 3-4 hours. Experience of operating large machinery is necessary for this role. Self employed or employed are both considered. Further days work may be available.
