**Summary**:
The Safety Security and Business Resilience (SSBR) business unit sits within MOD Head Office. Working to the Head of Establishment (Senior Security Risk Coordinator), its main role is to oversee the safety, security, and resilience of MOD Main Building, ensuring that staff within MOD Main Building can continue to deliver critical Defence outputs in all foreseeable circumstances.

This is an exciting new role within the Security team of SSBR and has been created to develop, improve, and enhance the personnel security offer within Head Office. It offers a fantastic opportunity to work in a varied, challenging yet friendly and supportive environment working with high profile stakeholders and business units to deliver the desired effect. The post holder will work to a newly created C1 (SEO) Personnel Security Team lead and develop strong relationships with the Establishment Site Security officer and Cyber and Information lead for Head Office.

This position is advertised at 36/37 hours per week terms and conditions dependent.

**Job description**:
Responsibilities include:

- Implementation of the Personnel Security Strategy for Head Office with an emphasis on security culture, training and awareness.
- Act as the Intelligent Customer for Vetting managing Head Office demand and prioritisation process.
- Maintenance of the Head Office Personnel Security Risk Register escalating risks as and when they arise including scrutinising requests to appoint at risk and advising on risk mitigations.
- Provision of proportionate risk-based security advice to the Principal Security Advisor, Head of Establishment and Business Units on personnel security risk.
- Implement the overseas travel policy, scrutinsing travel requests in line with Departmental policy.
- Establish a personnel security network to communicate personnel security matters

The role provides significant opportunity to develop expertise in standing up a personnel security offer in a Department of State, Stakeholder engagement and Leadership skills. Due to upcoming changes within the organisation the incumbent will have the ability to shape the future development of the team’s outputs.
