**The Role**

A crucial role to ensuring the safe and smooth running of the building and facilities at our Shepley site in Manchester, responsible for the management of all building and facilities, coordination of health, safety and risk management. Overseeing the safetyand maintenance of designated properties and ensuring that these properties are in compliance with all applicable regulations. Recommending and coordinating improvements to the property as needed to ensure a safe, functional space. Responsible for all contractormanagement on our site and acting as the first point of contact for all site based H&S matters.

Additionally, support for business continuity planning, as part of a wider business working group in ensuring emergency business plans are up to date, relevant and understood by all users. Responsible for the IT resource, equipment and system setup for allstaff.

Working in conjunction with the Group Health & Safety Manager to promote best and safe practice across the building operation, and being the CES lead in the implementation of ISO 9001 &14001.

**Key Duties**
- Maintain a safe, compliant workplace with appropriate access, lighting, signage, and disability access in accordance with current HSE Legislation
- Oversee and agreeing contracts and providers for all services including security, plant, equipment, fire, legionella and asbestos etc
- Draft and update emergency plans and evacuation procedures in line with the BCP
- Assist with emergency response and evacuations
- Act as first point of contact for health and safety queries, working in conjunction with Group H&S Manager
- Assist in managing, controlling and updating compliance HSE, incident and accident reporting, on ACCESS Safety Management System
- Oversee security, fire prevention, and other safety systems
- Manage the maintenance and or repairs of the building and its Workplace Equipment under LOLER & PUWER regulations organising, contracting or hiring maintenance services/professionals as needed
- Develop a Pre-Planned Maintenance schedule for all soft & hard FM
- Use best business practice to manage and reduce building costs.
- Ensure that occupants are provided with the appropriate welfare facilities
- Monitor building maintenance budgets
- Handle administrative tasks, such as reports, manuals, schedules, data and assessments
- Oversee contractors competence, documentation and safe system of works
- Quality control for all contractual work
- Respond to emergency situations or other urgent issues involving the facility or health and safety of colleagues
- Provide compliance training for CES employees as required
- Resolve complaints, problems, and requests from colleagues and local residents
- Conduct periodic compliance inspections of the building and work related equipment
- Assist in ISO Implementation for CES
- IT equipment resource management/Asset control
- User setup and induction
- Other duties, commensurate with the grading of the post that may be assigned by the line manager or their nominee
