As a Receptionist/Administrator you will receive, direct, and assist patients and visitors in accessing the appropriate service or healthcare professional in a courteous and friendly manner. Providing administrative support, services and general assistance to doctors and other Practice staff efficiently and effectively.

**Reception**
- Provide an effective, efficient, and friendly reception service to patients and visitors in accordance with Practice protocols.
- Make appointments and deal with all general enquiries for patients where required.
- Book, amend and cancel appointments on the day and for future dates where required.
- Book and process requests from home visits as appropriate.
- Take and process messages, requests, and tasks to and from patients in person.
- Using your own judgement, ensure that patients requesting urgent appointments, advice or home visits are correctly processed and the doctor on duty informed, as necessary.
- Ensure that new patients are registered onto the computer system promptly and accurately and advised of all services available to them including online booking, text message consent, sharing preferences etc.
- Keep reception tidy, maintaining a clear desk policy and complying to patient confidentiality and data protection.
- Advise patients of relevant charges for private (non GMS) services, accept payments and issue receipts for the same.
- Give out test results on patients request

**Administrative**
- Assist the clinical staff and management with any administrative tasks deemed appropriate, including chronic disease recalls.
- Fax and photocopy as required.
- Maintain admin task box
- QOF support

**Other Tasks**
- Open the surgery at the start of the day, taking early phone calls from staff and covering reception for the first part of the morning.
- Undertake any additional tasks appropriate to the post as requested by the Practice and/or other Managers.

**About You**

Essential
- Effective communicator
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
- Experience in a customer facing role
- Ability to work under pressure and to time constraints
- Experience within a GP surgery or healthcare setting
- Experience of clinical systems preferably SystmOne

**Job Types**: Full-time,

**Salary**: £10.42 per hour reviewed following 3month probation period

- Full-Time - 37hrs per week.
- Shift pattern 07:45 - 15:45 & 10:45 - 18:45
