The Best Connection Employment Group are recruiting on behalf of our client a busy Engineering company based in Rochester, Kent.

**Job Title: Factory Operative**

**Location**: Rochester

**Type of Position**: Full Time - 48 hours per week

**Pay Rate**: £11.30ph

**Hours of Work**: Monday to Thursday 0600-1630hrs and Friday 0600-1430hrs

**Summary**:
Our client is seeking a dedicated Factory Operative to join the Final Inspection department. In this role, you will be responsible for the inspection of products and related documentation prior to delivery to the customer. Your primary objective will be to ensure that customer specifications and requirements are met.

**Main Duties and Responsibilities**:
**Production**:

- Conduct visual inspections of multiple products, ensuring compliance with technical specifications.
- Perform dimensional inspections using go/no-go gauges and Vernier Calipers.
- Understand and interpret technical drawings.
- Conduct conductivity testing.
- Perform ultrasonic testing.
- Carry out minor rework, such as cosmetic touch-ups.
- Assist the Quality and Technical departments during the first article process.
- Ensure adherence to International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
- Follow Foreign Object Debris (FOD) procedures.
- Assist with Supplier and Internal Non Conformance Reports (NCRs).

**Data Recording**:

- Ensure route cards are fully completed, and information is accurately recorded throughout the manufacturing process.
- Perform works bookings and sub-contract bookings using the bespoke Aventa system.
- Complete job cards and log work carried out.
- Ensure customer-specific documentation is fully completed to the required standard.
- Complete and maintain the final inspection database using Microsoft Excel.
- Manage technique logs and serial number logs via Microsoft Excel.

**Health and Safety**:

- Properly use personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
- Have knowledge of chemicals used as stipulated in the department's COSHH assessment and Material Safety Data Sheets.
- Demonstrate a clear understanding and awareness of relevant Risk Assessments.

**Other**:

- Assist with internal and external audits, providing information and ensuring all processes are carried out in accordance with customer specifications.
- Conduct quarterly stock checks.
- Maintain the tidiness and cleanliness of the department in accordance with the clients housekeeping procedures, including 5S.
