The Client Transport depot at Fforestfach operates approximately 60 vehicles. A typical day at the services would be transporting service users, who may be Elderly, have a Physical or a Learning Disability, to one of many locations within the boundaries of Swansea Council. These locations would comprise Day Centres, Evening Centres, various clubs and training centres. We also convey children to and from school. In addition to this we also convey out-patients to and from hospital appointments in partnership with WAST.

Our fleet consists of a range of vehicles that include cars and accessible minibuses of various sizes. As a Passenger Assistant you will be required to supervise our service users and support the driver whilst traveling on our vehicles.

Duties will include responsibility for our service users' safety and comfort during their journey; ensuring wheelchairs are secured properly plus assisting clients on and off our vehicles. When not involved in passenger assistant duties, you will be required to undertake other duties, including assisting with the running of activities and supporting with care at day centres and clubs.

Transport is essential to the Social Services Department as without it some of our service users would not leave their homes, meet up with friends, learn new skills in our day centres and be able to enjoy life.
