We are looking for Supply Chain Materials Leads, with the main responsibility of ensuring that all major components which are planned / unplanned activity are available at all Distribution Centre’s (DC’s) by developing solutions to both internal and external Supply Chain challenges which impact on material availability to support current rail operations.

**About the role**:
You will be working across our DC’s network and working in conjunction with a further 3 x Supply Chain Materials Leads based across the region, and reporting into the Supply Chain Systems and Contracts Manager.

In this role we’re looking for someone who is enthusiastic, flexible and hardworking. You will typically be working day shift, however, start times may need to flex depending on working demands/commitments.

**Key responsibilities**:
This is a varied and challenging role, but here is a taste of what your day-to-day activities could include:

- Managing Northern’s in-house newspaper for colleagues, from finding and writing stories to editing layouts and booking photographers, and from organising print production to promoting the finished product.
- You’ll help to keep a wide range of business projects on track, by providing best practice advice to keep our communications consistent.
- Helping to organise leadership meetings, and sourcing engaging and inspiring content.
- You’ll research and write clear, accurate copy, for all sorts of internal resources.
- You’ll be working with a fun, enthusiastic team of professionals, who will support you in developing your career and skills.

**About you**:
As part of this role, you will need to have had experience in either Procurement and or Supply Chain environments and be able to communicate at various levels. The ability to be strong-willed and able to work on your own initiative is fundamental.

- Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Use SAP or Maximo - Experience would be beneficial
- learn new systems
- Have an understanding of traction and rolling stock materials
