**WHAT TO EXPECT**

The Opportunity

The purpose of the role is to provide the maintenance team with an overall view of the facility. Understanding the impact of the technical availability and identifying repeat concerns. This role will support the MLA maintenance team and drive adherence to standards and processes, technical availably improvements, workplan opportunities and CBM indicators.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

Your key accountabilities and responsibilities include:

- The maintenance control centre technical leader’s key responsibility will be monitoring the facility areas for repeat breakdowns via data gathered from FACMON & Paynter Charts.
- There is a requirement to monitor the flow of the facility and identify areas where CM/PM can be completed without interruption to the operation of the body shop.

Key Interactions

With your leadership skills, maintenance expertise and relevant apprenticeship, you’ll join our Maintenance team as a Group Leader based at our state-of-the-art Solihull plant within BIW. As a Skilled Group Leader, you’ll interact with Maintenance/Production Supervisors, Engineers and fellow Group Leaders. Within this role, you’ll be responsible for driving continuous improvement by coaching your team to achieve maintenance objectives, establishing a specific course of action and appropriately managing time, tasks and resources. You'll ensure early plant involvement in the reliability growth of MLA BiW, establishing production/maintenance-friendly facilities and creating preventative and predictive maintenance practices/techniques. You’ll deliver an enhanced MTTA and MTBF across all the area’s leading root cause analysis, drive OPR performance and focus on the buy-off of equipment. Other duties will include utilising maintenance windows to coordinate routine and non-routine activities, serving as a trainer on the shop floor/classroom and be responsible for generating CCARS and PPS for issues within the area.

**WHAT YOU’LL NEED**

Knowledge and Experience

Essential:

- Previous experience in Maintenance Operations
- Ability to solve problems and naturally strive for continuous improvement
- Attention to detail and analytical skills
- Knowledge and experience of delivering safety metrics
- Relevant indentured or advanced modern apprenticeship or equivalent experience
- City & Guilds or ONC in an engineering principle and/or relevant experience.
- Time served Indentured Apprenticeship - or have a certificate of an Apprenticeship.
- The ability to read and interpret electrical schematic drawings.
- Maintain weekly & monthly Control Engineering schedules.
- Support improvement activities & actively seek further improvement ideas (KAIZENS).
- Proficient PC skills with networking knowledge.
- Good communication skills.
- Ability & willingness to be flexible with working hours/shifts at short notice.
- Understanding of the process of a body shop
- Understand value stream maps

Desirable:

- Knowledge of Maintenance Operating Systems procedures & deliverables
- Ability to coordinate and motivate a team
- Experience of generating and delivering workplans and CM_'s_

Personal Profile

Essential:

- You’ll be a highly skilled Maintenance Technician with a relevant Indentured or Advanced Modern Apprenticeship, combined with a thorough understanding of maintenance practices and have the ability to co-ordinate and motivate a team of employees.
- Knowledge of plant engineering and body construction processes is essential as you'll be expected to coach the team.
- You’ll be able to implement change facilitating maintenance meetings, measuring, tracking and reporting problems via work group board management.
- You’ll be a quality-orientated individual with a high attention to detail and have the personal drive and enthusiasm required to deliver a world class product.
- You’ll confident with using various IT systems, such as Microsoft Office and SharePoint to collate statistical data, create reports and update documents.
- Using your strong communication skills, you will also be able to present your information in front of small groups of people, including management.
- You would be expected to work shifts and overtime, as and when the business requires.
