MMP Consultancy are looking to recruit a Policy and Research Officer to join a local authority based in London.
Working within the Climate Change team, you will be responsible for designing and delivering research on a wide range of topics connected to projects and developments. Provide support in the delivery of the Climate Change agenda within the department. Ensuringsuitable processes in systems are in place and that they are efficient, customer focused and developed in line with best practice.

**Responsibilities**:

- Coordinating, developing and delivering on research and development of projects in support of departmental and council priorities.
- Provide intelligence gathering and analytical support, for the creation, collection, analysis, interpretation and dissemination of intelligence and data within the team, to support research, projects and transformation.
- Demonstrate a creative and proactive approach in the identification, development and management of research and innovations for the department and Council.
- Provide support in the implementation of the Climate Change agenda, ensuring that suitable processes in systems are in place, and that they are efficient, customer focused and developed in line with best practice, policy and corporate guidance.
- Demonstrate a creative and proactive approach in the identification, development and delivery of research projects and innovations for the department and Council. 6. To engage and develop internal and external stakeholders and partners, building strong workingrelationships and networks.
- Develop policy documentation as appropriate.
- Make use of the performance management frameworks within the department and Council to support the delivery of projects.
Skills, Experience and Knowledge Required:

- Significant experience in policy and service development
- Experience of working with local government and an understand of the frameworks and constraints this entails
- Carrying out research projects within a large organisations and presenting the findings of the research
- Experience of successfully managing own workload in an environment where deadlines and priorities frequently change and are often conflicting
- A track record of working as part of cross-functional project teams, and ability to manage the delivery of cross-functional project teams via matrix management.
- Evidence of excellent interpersonal negotiation and influencing skills with the ability to establish positive working relationships with staff at all levels, corporate colleagues, elected members and external organisations.
- Ability to work at pace, juggle priorities, and assimilate new information quickly, and ability to make sound decision and judgements under pressure.
