Our Buying & Merchandising Apprenticeship Scheme is a fast-track development programme designed to give you all the tools that you need to begin your career in Buying and Merchandising and learn the foundations of what makes a good Buyer or Merchandiser. Here at Dunelm, we are passionate about watching our colleagues grow, that’s why internal progression has an integral part to play in all our colleagues’ development. The 2-year programme will make sure you’re challenged, supported, and will give you plenty of room to grow. You will be buddied up with capable Junior Buyers and Junior Merchandisers, who were once in your shoes, so feel confident that you will learn from the best

Over the 2-years, you will learn and experience every aspect of working as a Buying or Merchandise Assistant. You will work towards becoming a Junior Buyer or Junior Merchandiser by the end of the programme. Alongside this, you will be enrolled on to a Level 4 Buying and Merchandising Assistant Apprenticeship - equivalent to a higher BTEC qualification

**The finer details**
- During the 2 years you’ll cover 3 stages which will allow you to be fast-tracked to a Junior Buyer or Junior Merchandiser upon completion, during which you will develop your skill in bringing products to market for Dunelm
- You will be designated 6 hours of learning per week which you will be paid for alongside 34 hours per week of working at Dunelm
- Dunelm have adopted a hybrid way of working with a ‘typical’ week for Apprentices being split as 3 days in the office and 2 days at home to ensure your development is looked after
- You will receive support on the job from your Dunelm team, Line Manager and dedicated L&D team. In addition, you’ll receive dedicated support from the Northern Training academy for the qualification which will typically take 18 months to complete
- Much of the learning will take a blended approach consisting of remote and face to face visits from the Northern Training Academy
- All successful apprentices are awarded a Level 4 Buying and Merchandising Assistant Apprenticeship
- **What next?** If after 2 years, you have completed the Level 4 Apprenticeship, you’ll then have the opportunity to go on to complete a Degree Apprenticeship which will be fully funded by Dunelm

**All we ask is that you fulfil the entry requirements below;**
- A strong interest in a career in Buying or Merchandising
- Strong verbal and numerical skills and interest in data and analysis will be advantageous
- A minimum of six GCSEs including Maths and English at Grades 5-9

**_Please note: We _**_will _**_evaluate any applicants who _**_do not_**_ have all the relevant qualifications_**

**The process**

Then you’ll go on to be invited to our Recruitment Assessment Day that will be held in our Store Support Centre in Syston. This will include a 1 to 1 interview, a task to be completed before the day to present back and a group exercise.
