This position is located at our laboratories, based in a modern campus, close to the centre of the vibrant city of Newcastle upon Tyne, UK.

**Key Activities and Responsibilities**
- Planning and execution of projects, ensuring compliance with company operating procedures and high standards of record keeping.
- Routine performance of analytical techniques including flow cytometry, qPCR and immunocytochemistry.
- Management of stock supplies and contribution towards day-to-day operations of the laboratory including stock, equipment maintenance and safety documentation.
- Requirement to join company rota for weekend work (compensated accordingly).

**Person Specification**

**Essential**
- Scientific graduate with a BSc/MSc in Biomedical/Pharmacological Sciences or equivalent.
- Prior cell culture experience and ability to work independently using aseptic technique.
- Previous experience and knowledge in molecular biology techniques such as; DNA/RNA isolation, PCR/RT-qPCR, Western blotting, flow cytometry, ELISA, immunohistochemistry/ immunocytochemistry.
- Motivation and willingness to learn new laboratory techniques and the ability to be agile and prioritise workloads accordingly.
- Dedicated team player with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organisation skills, including maintenance of accurate and traceable records in-line with company procedures.

**Desirable**
- Experience of _in-vitro_ drug discovery and/or toxicology.
- Prior experience in GLP and following SOPs.
- Prior experience in COSHH and risk assessment preparation.
