Merrifield Consultants are delighted to be working with a Scientific Membership Organisation to recruit a dynamic and experienced Programme Officer for a 6-month Fixed-Term Contract.
**Salary**: £30,257 - £37,822/annum
Duration: 6 Months Fixed-Term Contract
Location: Central London
Hybrid: 2 days in the office
Hours: 9-5 (10-4 core hours)
**About the role**:
We are seeking a dynamic and organised individual to join the Scientific Membership Organisation as a Programme / Medals and Awards Officer. In this role, you will play a key part in the administration of the medals and awards programme, contributing to the organisation’s mission to recognise and support outstanding contributions to science.
**Responsibilities**:
You will play a crucial role in planning and delivering a diverse portfolio of prize lectures and associated events. Your responsibilities will include:
***Medals and Awards Life-cycle Administration:
- Prepare nomination systems and associated documentation for annual cycles.
- Manage the Awards inbox, responding to queries in a timely and professional manner.
- Monitor incoming nominations, ensuring each award receives nominations.
- Coordinate timely ordering of medals from suppliers.
Committee Management:
- Collate and draft documentation for selection committees.
- Support the Senior Officer in drafting papers and taking minutes.
- Arrange meetings, including selecting dates, room bookings, and drafting meeting materials.
- Produce an annual analysis of search panel outcomes.
Reporting and Evaluation:
- Employ appropriate evaluation methods for all projects and produce necessary reports.
- Take a continuous improvement approach to work, regularly reviewing and updating processes.
Event Management:
- Lead end-to-end planning and delivery of prize lectures and associated events.
- Liaise with awardees, manage logistics, and resolve issues efficiently.
- Coordinate with internal teams, manage catering, and handle design assets.
- Manage invitation and registration processes, both onsite and online.
- Ensure accurate records on the CRM system and budget management.
Excellent knowledge of office systems, particularly Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Teams, and databases.
Proven experience in planning and delivering high-profile events.
Demonstrable customer service experience in a customer-focused environment.
Strong relationship-building skills with various stakeholders.
Highly organised with strong project management and attention to detail.
