Principal Clinical or Counselling Psychologist

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced, highly motivated and enthusiastic Clinical or Counselling Psychologist to join our innovative, supportive and well-established North Warwickshire Community Mental Health and Wellbeing Team. The team has bases at Rugby and Nuneaton and works with people with complex trauma and mental health presentations. The psychology team is embedded within a multi-disciplinary team that values psychological therapy, formulation and psychologically informed interventions.
Please note many Trust interviews take place through Microsoft Teams, this can be downloaded either through the App Store or Google Play for use on your phone/tablet.
The post holder alongside the other principal psychologist in the team will provide clinical and professional leadership to senior psychologists, assistant psychologists, a CBT Therapist and Psychological Therapist to deliver high quality evidence-based interventions. These include EMDR, Compassionate Focused Therapy, Trauma-Focused CBT, Schema Therapy and Psychodynamic and Relational Therapies. The post holder will also support psychological practice within the MDT through consultation, supervision, formulation and training.
The post holder will be supported by the consultant clinical psychologist and will have opportunities to contribute to ongoing service development alongside principal psychologists from the other Community Mental Health and Wellbeing Teams in the Trust.

It is an exciting time to be joining the team due to new developments that will be taking place within the service as part of the Community Mental Health Transformation Programme. New co-produced pathways are also continuing to be developed within the Trust based on trauma-informed care approaches.
Psychological therapies staff from the North Warwickshire Service have close links with other Psychological Therapists within the Trust who have a wide range of interests and experiences. Therefore there are opportunities to share learning and develop together through peer supervision, service development meetings, special interest groups, CPD events and our Annual Psychological Services Conference. We are keen to support research opportunities and have strong links with the Coventry and Warwickshire Doctorate in Clinical Psychology course. The service regularly offers core and specialist trainee placements.
