Border Force - Central Region (CR) covers a large geographical area of central and eastern England, stretching from the Thames estuary in the south across to the east coast ports and as far north as East Midland’s Airport (EMA), near Derby.

The Border Force Operation in CR comprises approx. 1250 staff and includes aviation, maritime and postal operations; but also includes the regional mobile command teams at all Central Region BF locations; and general aviation/maritime duties at other sites.

The Business Support Unit sits at the heart of Luton Airport Command supporting approximately 140 operational staff and the senior management team. The Business Support Unit team members have lead portfolios but are required to assist with all aspects of the business. The Business Support Unit manages all key non-operational functions including accommodation, finance, health and safety, staffing, secure lock up, uniforms, fleet, airside passes and deliveries.

**Responsibilities but not limited to**:

- Arranging servicing for and maintaining official vehicles.
- Processing/arranging visitors passes for contractors and stakeholders.
- Working with the resourcing team to ensure our operational teams are supported in their duties.
- Assisting with recruitment/onboarding of new staff.
- Scheduling and dealing with the disposal of seized goods from our lock up.
- Ensuring stocks of office supplies and equipment are maintained.

- Be skilled in using evidence to support accurate, expert decisions and advice

**Essential** Criteria**
- Strong IT skills and solid understanding of Microsoft products (including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Skype/Teams)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills as well as strong interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise at all levels, both internally and externally
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise
- A strong work ethic, demonstrating commitment, discipline, respect and moral courage
- Ability to flex and adapt to changing working priorities according to business needs
- A continuous improvement approach to their working environment

**Desirable Criteria**
- Full Valid UK Manual Driving Licence
