An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Construction Supply Chain specialists to join Rolls-Royce Submarines in Derby

We’re a leader in propulsion system design and development for the Royal Navy’s nuclear submarine fleet and the sole provider and technical authority.

At a time when the Infrastructure requirement for our business is growing and we have some very exciting projects coming up, the Rolls-Royce Submarines Business is looking for Construction Supply Chain Management specialists, for team and leadership roles to support a growing portfolio of facilities and infrastructure projects within our UK business.

Projects will be related to the construction of new facilities and infrastructure or the repair or refurbishment of existing facilities. You will work in a range of fast-moving project teams including procurement project management, engineering, HSE, Group Property and planning functions. You will have commercial responsibility through the full construction project life cycle. Leadership experience or appetite is also important as we require skills in Project Leadership and Team Leadership on our portfolio of Construction projects.

What you’ll be doing:
You will commercially manage high value/complex construction contracts, ensuring Rolls-Royce Submarines Business commercial risk is managed appropriately throughout the project lifecycle. Manage all commercial matters from project inception through procurement strategy, estimating, tender, negotiation, contract administration and contract closure.
- Prepare Construction Procurement and Supplier Strategies with stakeholders and gain cross-function approvals as required. Provide contractual and procurement advice to stakeholders tailored to the nature and risk of the scope whilst also providing cost and risk advice to project stakeholders.
- Prepare formal Cost Plans in accordance with the RICS NRM Estimating Process. Prepare tender/contract documentation and ensure technical specifications have been approved by the appropriate Delegated Authorities before tender/contract release, also undertake tender actions and negotiations with suppliers to ensure the optimum value for money and risk profile is achieved.
- Liaise with Legal, Commercial, Risk, Group Property and others as required to ensure Rolls-Royce Submarines Business commercial risk is appropriately managed and mitigated.

- Experienced in standard forms of contract including JCT / NEC or similar construction contracts and managing commercial negotiations is essential for this project.
- Experienced in successful project delivery throughout the whole project lifecycle.
- Experienced in working as part of fast-paced cross-functional supply chain project teams with excellent stakeholder management skills.
- Awareness / familiarity of relevant laws and regulation applicable to Construction Management
