Material Handler

We are looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated Materials Handler to join the production team here at Herbert based in Haverhill. You will be working for a company that is large enough to support a variety of big-name companies but small enough to care about our staff and all that we do.

**What will you do?**

You will be one of the main supports to our field-based Engineer team, receiving in and sending out materials. Not only this you will be supporting our external tier 1 retailer customers with their material requirements.

**Your key responsibilities**
- To conduct regular weekly physical inventory checks and report discrepancies to the stock controller following physical to book quantities.
- To maintain “Material Stores” location sheet with part numbers and locations.
- To accurately input computer information and keep daily record of courier audit labels and driver manifests.
- To ensure that stock accuracy is maintained at the defined levels both in the field and in headquarters.
- To organise contract transport when required through production, ensuring the most economical option is chosen that also meets the business need.
- To assist with Incoming engineer telephone calls and problems arising, liaising with the Service desk where necessary.
- To monitor and raise order requests to Purchasing department for all packing materials.
- To deliver monthly KPIs for stock to the Production Manager e.g. Replen figure, courier costs, ABC Stock percentage accuracy figures
- To ensure that all requirements under Health & Safety legislation are actively adhered to.

**Your Skills and experience**
- Ability to adapt to fast changing demands of the business
- Ability to read, interpret and follow work instructions
- Full UK driving license.
- Team player with a self-motivated attitude
- Eye for detail - Accuracy
- Able to lifts weights of up to 15 kg
