**Material Handler - Fixed Term Contract**

Thule Group has approximately 2,400 employees at 8 production facilities and 35 sales offices worldwide. We employ 50+ staff at our site in Haverhill where we produce roof boxes and handle the European distribution of all Thule products.
We currently have an opening for a reliable and enthusiastic Material Handler to work in our production environment, delivering top tier support to the current team.
**The Role - Material Handler**
The primary purpose of this role is to move material to the assembly lines via a pump truck or trolley, handballing large roof boxes onto trailers, taking rubbish away from assembly lines, moving lids and bases for roof boxes into correct areas of warehouse, picking and packing of roof boxes. Sometimes using a scanner to move stock into correct locations. The successful applicant must hold valid training on a Counterbalance Truck and be an experienced and competent driver. Reach Truck training is desirable but not essential for this post.
**Duties/Key Responsibilities**
Working in co-operation with other departments and management, the Material Handler will:
- maintain a constant flow of material to assembly line
- produce products in the most energy and material efficient manner as possible
- comply with all relevant legislation e.g. Environmental, Health & Safety, Employment
- minimise environmental impact as a result of operations
- comply with housekeeping standards
- keep scrap levels to a minimum and meet throughput targets
- set a good example to others and offer support and encouragement to new staff
- have due regard for the safety of self and others
- work in co-operation with other departments and management
- replenish assembly line using Kan-ban system
**Minimum Skills Required**
- Ability to carry out heavy lifting duties to manoeuvre boxes
- Able to use computer systems and radio for communication
- Able to work on feet all day
- Ability to work effectively and calmly under pressure.
- Understanding of Health and Safety legislation
**Education and Formal Training**
- Minimum secondary school education
- Forklift licence
**Experience requirements**
- Warehouse and/or production line
- Experience using a Counterbalance Truck is essential
- Experience using a Reach Truck is desirable

**Working hours**
Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week:
08:00-17:00 **Monday-Thursday** with 30 minutes unpaid break
08:00-14:00 **Friday**
**Job Types**: Full-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 15 months
Pay: £13.10 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
