Helping us work at a landscape scale to find great solutions for nature and climate, you’ll share our aim to make the historic environment accessible and to become truly inclusive and relevant for everyone.

Your contractual location will be one of our hubs in Tredegar or Llandeilo with the opportunity to work from properties and from home some of the time and we will consider flexible working patterns. Travel across the region is required.

18.75 hrs/wk: £21,700 starting salary pro rata. We are currently undertaking our pay review process and it is likely that this salary will be increased from 1st April 2024.

What it's like to work here:You’ll be a member of the Trust's regional and national consultancy, joining a network of archaeologists and specialists, working closely with property teams to share skills and experience across departments and boundaries, offering our properties outstanding advice and support. You’ll deliver alongside another archaeologist in Wales, leading for the value of the historic environment in providing an engaging and sustainable future for everyone.

What you'll be doing:Reporting to a Consultancy Manager in Wales, you’ll provide a high-quality consultancy service to your clients across a portfolio of properties, contributing to strategic plans, identifying archaeological opportunities, needs and resources.

You'll enable the Trust to protect and improve the historic environment whilst making the changes we need to respond to the challenges of our generation, commissioning specialist contractors undertaking archaeological work on our behalf.

You’ll help develop our Heritage & Archaeology Ranger Teams, building volunteer capacity for condition monitoring, research and engagement activities and championing the work of the Trust externally, building partnerships, identifying funding opportunities and inspiring people.

You'll mentor and train property staff and volunteers to build capability and understanding in the care of the historic environment.
