**What we’re looking for?**
We’re looking for a Finance Business Partner on a 12-month Fixed-term contract to be responsible for improving the current financial business-as-usual controls and reporting across a number of key finance reporting areas. The role will focus firstly on operational improvements, and then move onto improving WWU’s key financial reporting (external and internal) controls and processes.
**We’ll trust you to**:

- Work closely with the NEMS Management Accountant to deliver month end duties, including journal posting for accruals and prepayments, and staff capitalisation.
- Help design and develop reporting and analysis, including unit cost reporting and price volume analysis for Network Services and Emergency and Metering Services.
- Roll out newly designed reports to Technical Managers and their support teams; provide support and guidance as required.
- Support the maintenance of newly created MI, including detailed regional reports.
- Support the reconciliation, reporting, and analysis of Operational and Overhead spend.
- Review and reconcile staff capitalisation, including regular review with Senior Managers.

**You’ll need to have**:

- Part qualified in professional accounting qualification
- Full UK driving license
- Strong accounting skills - previous management accounting experience
- Ability to work on their own and confident to ask questions and challenge work
- Advanced Excel skills, Access desirable
- High level of concern for order, quality, and delivery to strict deadline
- Highly numerate and skilled at complex problem solving
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Use of financial systems (SAP user preferable desirable but not essential),
- Knowledge of non-financial systems, data-processes, and activities
- Knowledge of financial policies and procedures.
- Good presentation skills
