**What you’ll be doing**
The **Senior Legal Counsel** will support the Director of Legal with the management and mitigation of legal risk across the business, ensuring legal compliance.
The role also involves managing material matters, projects, and litigation and the provision of legal advice to manage legal risk and reputation across the business.
**What you should bring to the role**:

- At least **6 years’ PQE**, ideally with experience in providing commercial legal advice within a regulated environment and within agreed budgetary and timing constraints
- **Qualified solicitor or barrister** in England & Wales or qualified overseas solicitor in a recognised jurisdiction; must hold or be able to hold an unrestricted legal practising certificate from the **Solicitors’ Regulation Authority**:

- Experience in effectively **managing and working well within a team** (whether internal or external)
- Significant experience in the **management and supervision of external legal providers**, (from a performance/budgetary perspective is desirable)
- Previous **contract management**experience is also desirable but not essential
- A **resilient self-starter** and team player with the confidence to operate in a rapidly changing and fast-paced environment at management level
- Strong decision-making skills based on analysis, risk assessment, and **sound judgement**:

- A **broad range of legal experience**, including commercial law experience in the negotiation of a wide range of commercial agreements and contracts
- Sound, **senior experience working on in-house matters** in a regulated environment, major projects, developments, property, and/or transactional experience
- Experience in**risk management and legal compliance** reporting, including managing and reporting material and commercial risks
- Must have good to advanced level IT and be proficient in MS Office products
