Reed Legal are delighted to be supporting a large well know international brand - one of the UK’s most recognised brands - to recruit a permanent legal counsel.

This role sits in the businesses growing global legal team. They can guarantee that no day is the same as you support this international business with ambitious expansion plans.

In this role you will advise on a broad range of legal issues from negotiating commercial agreements to assisting the business with cutting-edge strategic initiatives.

As part of the legal team, you will collaborate with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders to support, guide and protect the business.

Duties
- Providing pragmatic legal advice on a wide variety of legal matters, such as:

- Leading the drafting and negotiation on key commercial contracts
- Supporting strategic commercial initiatives, new business development and new territory launches
- Advising on regulatory and compliance matters across borders
- Supporting our sustainability and corporate social responsibility programmes
- Navigating the implications for the business of new legislation and technology innovation
- Delivering high quality and timely legal advice to get the best outcome both legally and commercially
- Building strong relationships with internal stakeholders across a range of business functions, including retail, technology, marketing, finance, people & culture and supply chain, to support, guide and protect the business
- Acting as an ambassador for the legal team and actively contributing to the ongoing success of the business
- Effectively collaborating with outside law firms when needed and coordinating advice for a non-legal audience. Managing timelines and budgets for this as required

To be considered for this role you will be a commercially astute legal adviser who can balance common sense with legal rigour.

You will have at least 3 years relevant pqe from an in-house or law firm role. Strong commercial contract drafting and negotiation skills with knowledge of other areas such as, consumer law, marketing, licensing, logistics and data protection
This role offers a competitive salary and a range of corporate benefits. There is also the option to only have to work from the Reading office twice per week
