Main duties of the job

The Divisional Portfolio Administrator will provide a supportive role in managing the research portfolio across the Division to realise R&I, Trust, and National objectives.

Medicine division. The Medicine Research team prides itself on delivering

high quality clinical research across areas such as Respiratory,

Cardiology, Stroke, Infectious Diseases and the Emergency Department. We have a large busy team working closely with multidisciplinary teams to

deliver trials and works in an embedded way with frontline clinical staff.

The portfolio of trials is large covering commercial and non-commercial

studies and we consider research as an integral part of patient care and

try to ensure that every patient is offered a trial where appropriate.

Working for our organisation

Clinical research is central to the care we provide for every patient. We deliver over 400 clinical trials across all specialties working as part of the healthcare team, and supported by experts in every part of the research process. Our NIHR Nottingham Biomedical Research Centre is translating research discoveries into new treatments for common diseases including asthma and arthritis. Central to our research is Nottingham’s expertise in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI).

Supporting all of our research is the NIHR Nottingham Clinical Research Facility which provides the infrastructure, skills and knowledge essential to the delivery of high quality experimental medicine research for adults and children. Our expertise and resources are at the forefront of COVID-19 research into effective treatments and vaccines, as well as contributing to the world’s understanding of Coronavirus.

Essential criteria
- Educated to GCSE level standard (or equivalent) including English Language and Mathematics.
- Qualification in IT/computing (i.e. NVQ, A level, BTEC or equivalent).
