This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the Barnet Learning Disabilities Service where you will provide targeted, preventative support and intervention for both adults with learning disabilities and their carers, working with them in a holistic, strengths based and personalised way. The Assessment and Enablement Officer (Social Work) role will be primarily focused on assessing, supporting and reviewing adults with learning disabilities requiring care and support, and their carers. The roles will play a pivotal role in helping individuals, families and their carers to maximize their independence in the community by building good networks and maintaining strong links with both statutory and partner agencies in and supporting them in their decision making.

Above all, you will be committed to building relationships and effectively communicating with people in touch with the service to promote the independence, health and well-being of adults with learning disabilities and their carers.
- You will need a sound understanding of Health and Social Care within the Barnet community and experience of working with adults with LD and carers of people with care and support needs.
- You will have knowledge of relevant social care legislation and guidance and an understanding of protecting and making vulnerable adults safe.
