Do you want to work for an expanding supplier to High Street retailers, dealing with a wide variety of products across toys, homewares, gift and seasonal? We have a great opportunity for an experienced Shipping Administrator to join their team, based in amazing offices in Oldham.
**Responsibilities**:
- Daily monitoring and tracking of shipments to ensure all is running on time and to highlight any potential issues and delays to the relevant people within the business.
- Creating GIW (goods inward documents) on the system for each shipment/container and ensuring the system is kept up to date with accurate cargo details, ETD, and ETA.
- Liaising with factories prior to the cargo ready date to ensure all stock will be ready on the date promised and making sure shipment bookings are made in advance.
- Reviewing shipment bookings for UK imports and submitting shipment bookings for FOB orders.
- Checking supplier packing lists and invoices to ensure the correct goods and quantities are shipped.
- Gathering bill of ladings from the supplier and sending/uploading shipping documents (packing list & invoice) for customer’s FOB orders according to each customer’s needs.
- Ensuring containers are booked in with the warehouse team at least 1 week before vessel ETA and delivery instructions sent to the forwarder.
- Request delivery bookings for containers delivered directly to customers at least two weeks before vessel ETA and delivery instructions sent to the forwarder.
- Checking and liaising with accounts department to ensure final bill of lading (telex release) is available before shipments arrive.
- Sending customs clearance documents and instructions to the clearing agent on time.
- Ensuring all relevant HS commodity codes are logged on the system.
- Estimating or acquiring air freight rates and transport rates for colleagues.
- Checking freight invoices are correct to assist the accounts department.
**Skills & Experience required**:
- Shipping / Logistics experience
- Strong communication skills - confident speaking to suppliers, factories and internally within the business.
- Ability to establish, develop and maintain positive business and supplier relationships.
- Good knowledge of Excel, Word, and Microsoft NAV.
- Organisation and prioritisation skills, with a keen eye for detail and ability to manage and workloads efficiently.
- Highly motivated, proactive, tenacious, and eager to learn.
- Solution driven and collaborative attitude.
- Positive and committed person.
