Bedfordshire, United Kingdom East of England Ambulance Service Trust Full time

The role provides senior clinical leadership for Mental Health across the whole of EEAST. Working within the Clinical Directorate and in partnership with the Heads of Operations.

The role will provide clinical leadership to ensure that the highest level of prehospital care for Mental Health is provided by our people to our patients. This role supports the achievement of national performance standards, optimal clinical outcomes and ensures compliance against national and local clinical practice standards. The post holder will also have a pan Trust regional responsibility for Mental Health, will line manage out Mental Health Advanced Practitoners and will be the Trust first point of call in that area.

The role requires working with General Managers to ensure that the relevant clinical standards including ACQI’s are met and where required provide leadership to improving output. The role provides consultancy level support to the sectors on all Mental Health related clinical matters through working with the senior sector team to influence strategy and tactical delivery. The role will provide expert consultancy and guidance to AGMs and LOM teams with a focus on improving/safeguarding care standards along with providing mentorship and clinical support to those roles.

The role will provide strategic and tactical input into clinical development within the sectors working with the ICS, acute providers and other partner organisations to develop and enhance the care provided in the sector. The role will also reduce silo working and ensure we consistently offer a less clinically varied service to our patients.

Our Trust provides emergency and non-emergency care to patients in the east of England covering the six counties of Essex, Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire, Suffolk, Norfolk and Cambridgeshire.

You get to work in one of the most diverse areas of the country; the bustling capital city is on our doorstep and the bracing North Sea envelopes our shores to the east.

We've got historical cathedral towns and cities, brand new communities, rural broadlands and some of the busiest arteries of road and rail networks, including the M25, A14, M1, M11 and A12, and railway lines from London Liverpool Street out to Cambridge, Norwich, Peterborough, Colchester and Southend.

Wherever you go in the east of England there is always something to see and do; but if travelling around the UK and beyond is a must for you as well, the Luton, Stansted, Norwich and Southend airports couldn't make it more easier to stay in touch with loved ones or send you on a deserved holiday or short break.

The role will provide strategic and tactical input into clinical development within the sectors working with the ICS, acute providers and other partner organisations to develop and enhance the care provided in the sector. The role will also reduce silo working and ensure we consistently offer a less clinically varied service to our patients.

In collaboration with the Clinical/Quality Directorate, Heads of Operations and General Managers ensure continuous evaluation of clinical activities and clinical service development; assisting in the development of a culture of lifelong learning and research within Emergency Operations, ensuring the clinical quality agenda is continuously developed and evaluated at a regional level.

The role encompasses a strong clinical and professional leadership mandate including contributing to the development of the profession at a local, regional and where appropriate national level.

The role also requires the post holder to provide pre-hospital Mental Health care at specialist or advanced level
