**Turning Passion into Purpose**. This department provides advice and support for students on a wide range of non-academic and educational needs. The department aims to enable all students to achieve their potential while studying, by providing an approachable and reliable service that students can trust.

Services provided include accommodation advice covering disabilities and dyslexia; employment and careers; financial advice; international students; mental health and wellbeing. ID card support, Student status and Council Tax exemption letters are also provided.

This position will be responsible for conducting solution-focused support, in a single-session model to students with a range of emotional difficulties. This will involve making referrals and signposting students to appropriate services both within the University and externally, including the University’s own counselling service which is provided by our external partner organisation. You will be working with a Mental health and Wellbeing team and supporting with case and enquiry management alongside the team.

You will also be part of facilitating and delivering student and staff training focused on harassment and sexual misconduct. Additionally, facilitating group interventions for students such as emotional health content to be delivered within the curriculum, workshops, and a rolling programme of wellbeing focussed social activity.

**About You**:

- Interpersonal and Communication Skills: Strong interpersonal skills, including active listening, empathy, and the ability to establish rapport with students from diverse backgrounds. Excellent communication skills to effectively convey information and provide guidance to individuals and groups.
- Organisational and Time Management: Strong organisational skills to manage caseloads effectively, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines while maintaining quality support and care.
- Cultural Competence: Sensitivity and understanding of cultural, social, and individual differences. Ability to provide inclusive and culturally sensitive support to individuals from diverse backgrounds.
- Problem-Solving and Solution-Focused Approach: Capability to help individuals identify their challenges, explore possible solutions, and assist them in developing action plans to address their wellbeing concerns.
