This is a the perfect role if you are looking to step up from a technical finance role role into your first leadership position. The Group Financial Controller is responsible for all day to day finance activities for the Group, which includes the UK and USdivisions.
The role includes support to the CFO and other senior leaders along with being a business partner to other key non-Finance roles across the whole organisation, you will have active involvement as a key member of the Management Team and any related projects.
The Group Financial Controller will be responsible for:

- Development of departmental performance measures to assess the effectiveness and efficiency of Finance, such as month close delivery time, quality of balance sheet reconciliations and receivables / payables management.
- Supporting the external relationships with; Auditors, Insurance broker, Banking & FX management contacts, Payroll and Benefits contacts, etc.
- Managing and developing a small finance team.
Essential:

- Strong technical accounting knowledge gained from study and practical experience - to be the accounting and internal financial controls expert.
- Experience in producing statutory and management accounts from a range of platforms.
- Strong Excel and other IT skills, particularly in data extraction, analysis and presentation of that data to senior managers in an insightful and meaningful way.
- Ability to work across the organisation to deliver clear information that allow effective management decisions to be made.
- Ability to manage multiple activities, prioritising as appropriate to meet deadlines.
- Team management experience with the ability to delegate and develop the skills of the team to meet the needs of the business.
Desirable:

- Experience of working within a manufacturing SME HQ with an international presence.
- Experience of implementing finance system solutions, particularly ERP.
- Have a commercial outlook with ability to identify and evaluate commercial opportunities.
- Proven experience of leading transformation and getting the best out of the team working for you.
- Hands-on experience of FX and other risk management tools and methodologies.
- Experience of managing and accounting for intercompany transfer pricing structures and agreements.
