Regulatory Compliance Specialist

The purpose of the role is to support the continuous monitoring and adherence of Water Network regulatory measures and targets, and to support the Water Network Regulatory Manager and Technical Team in the production of all relevant reports for Water Network Operations.
The role holder will audit, interrogate and analyse system data across all Water Network standards and make recommendations based on regulatory and compliant outputs ensuring data is reliable, accurate and complete. This will help promote improvements / corrective actions are identified following compliance checks.
The role holder will be seen as a specialist for Water Network and associated regulatory measures i.e. Supply Interruptions, Low Pressure, Mains Burst, Customer Appointments, Discoloured Water events & Water Regulations including Water Quality Infringement reporting.
**Job Accountabilities**:
- The Water Network Regulatory Compliance Specialist will report to the Water Network Regulatory Reporting Manager and will work closely with the Water Network Technical, Water Network Delivery Managers, Water Network Service Delivery Managers, Water Network Performance Managers, Economic Regulations, Corporate Audit, Performance Team, Customer Commitments Team, Alliance Partners and any other relevant departments to provide a regional overview of the various compliance checks associated with regulatory and technical datasets
- They will have a key role in influencing decisions affecting network performance measures and processes. The role takes responsibility for supporting Water Network operations to achieve compliant data outputs help support data gathering for the following reporting requirements such as:
- To provide advice and recommendations to the Water Network Regulatory Reporting Manager and Water Network Technical Team on Water Network activities as a result of compliance checks
- To promote good compliance via advice / guidance / briefings at meetings, and in some cases at forums relating to Water Network field teams or associated partners
- Timeliness of delivery of outputs
- Demonstration of strong working relationships across the wider team
- To ensure compliance with Water Network Customer Service Standards [GSS] were required; To provide excellent customer service
- Support the line manager[s] in achievement of compliance reporting
- Complete assurance audits of all Water Network activities and develop action plan of highlighted issues, and monitor identified actions to ensure compliance with regulatory standards
**Knowledge and Skills**:
Minimum qualifications for the role will normally be proven relevant experience in Water Network with a technical qualification (minimum HNC or NVQ level 4)
Have either widespread and relevant experience in the roles relevant field or will have demonstrated technical or regulatory expertise in another area of the business
A detailed working knowledge of INS (Integrated Network Solutions), Tableau reporting, OMS, Aquavista/OneMap and WQ Info bank, will be required to ensure completion of effective analysis
A good level of competency in the use of Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint to enable the coordination of comprehensive compliance reports
Have a good understanding of the regulatory framework to support the Network Technical Manager to deliver improvement plans and identify areas for further improvements
An understanding of wider business issues across all levels of the Company, Network Operations is key, particularly an awareness of the nature and effect of activities within this business area
Good analytical skills and the ability to identify, develop and drive through solutions to a wide range of regulatory and compliance problems
Understanding of the Regulatory and legislative framework surround Water Network Operations
Flexibility to working to changing deadlines and attention to detail
Ability to work as a team as well as independently
Proactively manages and builds good relationships with internal/external customers/clients to successfully grow our business
