Lead the waste management and industrial cleaning activities across site in order to comply with regulatory, company standards, and meet commercial objectives.

Promote waste reduction, recycling, waste segregation, and explore alternatives for the responsible disposal of site waste streams in order to improve the site's environmental footprint and reduce costs.

Focal point for daily Energy Recovery Plant (ERP) operational assurance - identifying and acting on blockers to "Delivering The Plan", maintaining the integrity of the production work processes (Ensure Safe Production, Reliability Centred Maintenance, ManagementOf Change, Production Training & Procedures

Reports to the lead Asset Manager and member of OEM team

Accountabilities
- Ensure that the handling and disposal of waste (on and off site) is in accordance with legal requirements.
- This involves compliance with the site's waste licence, IPC (PPC) authorisation and waste regulations, performing periodic duty of care audits on all 3rd party waste disposal outlets, and overseeing standards and practices across site.
- Lead and train a network of waste focal points across site to ensure appropriate knowledge and implementation of standards, and to share and promote best practices.
- Prepare budgets, track costs and address deviations from target.
- Assist Production Unit Manager to shape a longer-term asset rejuvenation and reliability improvement plan for ERP.
- Accountable for the assurance of operational aspects of:

- Production Procedures e.g. Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and Job Aids and production Training material
- Shared Accountability for coaching and for the technical and trouble shooting skills of operators

**Key Skill Areas**
- Knowledge of refinery / manufacturing operations principles, business processes and systems.
- Good organisational, communication and interpersonal skills
- Prior experience as a PTL or a Front Line Leader position with line responsibility would be an advantage, but not essential
- Knowledge of waste management & industrial cleaning
- Ideally a Permit PVO and/or PA (or working towards)

**Responsible**

Responsible for: Championing the Ensure Safe Production (ESP) process for the ERP:

- Owns and maintains ESP Process & Systems, including the Variable Table, assuring that the systems function & deliver
- ESP Coach and Trainer
- Tracks / Reports ESP Process Metrics
- Daily monitoring of unit (ERP) performance and operating conditions - delivers 2nd Level Proactive Equipment monitoring
- Maintains operational continuity and optimise performance & quality by monitoring results on a daily basis, thus facilitating "Delivery of the Plan"
- Contributes to the writing of the daily operating instructions.
- Operations Rep in HEMP (Hazards Effect Management Process), Corrosion Control Document, RCM (Reliability Centred Maintenance) studies
- Investigates Equipment Failures
- Communication of operating guidelines and changes to procedures across all shift teams with input from Operations Delivery Manager (ODM), Production Team Leader (PTL), Operations Maintenance Coordinator (OMC)
- Work closely with ODM, Production Team Leaders and Technical (TEC) support team in dealing with day-to-day 'chronic' problems as well as assisting shift teams with problem solving activities. This will involve communicating and co-ordinating correctiveactions.
- Work with TEC support team in writing and reviewing temporary procedures and communication to all shift teams.
- Support development of new and revise existing procedures, which will include preparation of equipment, shut down (normal and emergency), start up and commissioning.
- Implementation of new initiatives to improve safety, reliability and reduce costs.
- Review plant changes for feasibility and communicate any approved/installed plant changes to shift teams. This will include any feedback to initiators on status. Support Handover process - act as pre-commissioning nominee
- Review Project Process Engineering Flow diagrams (PEFs) and Isometrics for operability and get involvement from shift teams.
- Operations Input to Projects
- Work with Trainer to develop training packages and train teams.
- Support OMC in validating and prioritising any unit maintenance activities / work requests and communication to shift teams. Act as operations focal point for any related E&SB's (Emergency and Schedule Breakers) etc
