Ipswich, United Kingdom Suffolk County Council Full time

**Suffolk County Council - Ipswich, Suffolk IP1 2BX**:

- **£30,151 per annum (pro rata if part time)**:

- **37 hours per week**:

- **Fixed term or Secondment opportunity until September 2023**

We are committed to **flexible working,** so please read the Job and Person Profile to find out about the types of flexible working available for this role.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and highly talented individual to work on an ambitious programme of skills development, which will make a real difference to the Adult Health and Social Care Sector.

The **Developing Skills in Adult Health and Social Care programme**, which is a joint Norfolk and Suffolk venture, has secured European Social Funding (ESF) and was set up to address the skills gaps in the sector with an aim to deliver a wide-scale training programme to the sector, with a primary focus on in-work pay and progression, enabling workers to achieve higher earning potential.

This role is part-funded by the **European Social Fund (ESF)**.

**Your role and responsibilities**

The project will deliver:

- a range of training from entry-level to Leadership programmes, tailored to the specific needs of the adult health and social care sector
- a mentoring programme to support staff in progressively higher qualification programmes.

You will be working with a high degree of autonomy, working one-to-one with individuals to ensure they are supported through their chosen course and it fully meets their needs.

One-to-one mentoring is central to the project, it aims to support individuals with hard and soft skills.

You will also be involved with the team in developing and delivering workshops and sessions with those who are looking at coming into adult health and social care to help make informed choices and understand the career pathways in Health and social care. The project has substantial targets to meet in a relatively short timescale, and we are looking for highly experienced mentors who can hit the ground running.

**You should be able to demonstrate the following**:

- Work with an agreed number of individuals to contribute to project outcomes.
- Support individuals to identify suitable learning programmes that meet their career progression needs.
- Develop a positive working relationship with individuals and jointly develop a plan of action.
- Review progress and plans with individuals at regular intervals, to ensure that the action plan is meeting the identified needs.

You can view a full list of requirements in the **Job and Person Profile (JPP)**.

If you think you have what it takes to be successful in this role, even if you don’t meet all the requirements, please apply.

**Travel and workplace requirements**

We positively encourage the use of technology to communicate, but in this role, you will need to travel to locations away from your contractual base, so you must either hold a full and current driving licence and have access to personal transport or meet the mobility requirements of the role through other reasonable and suitable means. If you require a reasonable adjustment due to a disability to meet the travel requirements of this role, please speak with the contact detailed below.

This role supports hybrid working, a broadly even balance between working from home and working from an office base. If you wish to discuss how that might impact your working arrangements, please contact the recruiting manager listed below. **#LI-Hybrid**

**To find out more**

**Closing date: 11.30pm, 26 January 2023**

**Interview date: 2 or 3 February 2023**.

If you are selected for an interview but are not available on this date, please make contact to arrange an alternative.

This authority is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. DBS checks or police vetting will be required for relevant posts.
