- Job description- As Asset Performance Team Leader you'll be responsible for the whole lifecycle of flood and coastal risk assets within your catchment, ensuring they are effectively managed. You will work towards helping the Environment Agency achieve its ambition to be a world leading asset manager. Assets can include earth embankments, floodwalls, pumping stations and flood storage reservoirs.
Our assets are designed to protect people and property and as Team Leader you will be providing sound and effective leadership to a team of highly skilled team members. You will be looking to bring the best out in your team and create an inclusive environment.
You will be supported by and be a valuable part of the Area Operations Leadership Team; made up of other team leaders and senior specialists and you will report to an Area Operations Manager.
Responding to incidents is a central part of what we do. You will be required to have an incident role and make yourself available to respond to incidents or provide business continuity support during an incident. This may attract an additional payment and full training and alternative working arrangements will be available to support you with your incident role.
- The team- Asset Performance Teams manage flood and coastal erosion risk assets to reduce the impact of flooding. We do this by managing the whole lifecycle of our flood and coastal erosion risk management assets, i.e. planning, delivery, maintenance, decommissioning. It is our role to ensure we have the right assets, constructed; inspected; surveyed where they deliver the greatest benefit. We also ensures they are maintained in a safe; effective and efficient manner throughout their lifecycle.
- Experience/skills required- We are looking for applicants who are passionate people managers, as a team leader you will be able to describe how you would:

- deliver the outcomes of the Environment Agency through others;
- communicate effectively with both internal and external groups;
- manage multiple and competing demands;
- inspire the team so they are able to achieve our ambitions;
- demonstrate how you can support your team in their development needs.

You will use your experience to manage health, safety and wellbeing of yourself and others.

As part of the Area Operations Leadership team, you must be willing to support the wider team and occasionally deputise for your Manager.
You will need a driving licence.
