Action Pantry Oxford provides a weekly opportunity for those experiencing financial hardship to choose and collect food from our base in OX4. We currently have a rewarding opportunity for an assistant to join our Action Pantry team to support the running of this important service.

**The Role**:
Working alongside our Pantry Manager and volunteers you will take the lead on the day to day to running of the Pantry space. This involves keeping the cleaning schedule up to date as well as managing stock levels. You will oversee food deliveries to the Pantry as well as manage restocking and stock rotation.

You will also build up a relationship with our clients supporting them to collect food during our opening hours. This requires a warm approach and confidentiality and discretion are vital.

This is a 15 hour a week role primarily working Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays however to support changing demands a degree of flexibility is important.

**You**:
Will be reliable, confident, proactive and friendly with the ability to multitask. The nature of this work requires a compassionate and empathic approach. To keep the Pantry clean, tidy and the shelves well stocked you must be fit and be able to manage heavy lifting.

Ideally you will have experience of working within the charity sector. Food Hygiene training would also be beneficial.

Mercy in Action is a UK registered charity (1096068) working with children, their families and communities in the UK and the Philippines.

In the UK, our Petra Project provides nurturing homes for young mums and their babies and young people, who would otherwise be facing homelessness. In the Philippines, our work centres around helping children to regain lost years by providing residential care, a schooling program and a drop-in centre for street children. Our professional staff work tirelessly to reunite families and enable them to have a future together.

Our newest Bath-based projects, the Clothesline and Action Pantry, provide food and clothing to local families.

Our growing network of Mercy in Action Charity shops raises essential funds for maintaining and expanding these projects, enabling us to support those most in need.
