Mercy in Action have an exciting opportunity for a Driver based in the Oxford area. The position is for 24 hours a week. This may include some Saturdays and occasional holiday cover.

**The Role**:
You will be responsible for completing deliveries and collections from Mercy in Action charity shops and Action Pantries based within the Oxford area, within agreed timescales, to ensure the continued running of the shop and projects.

This is a busy but vital role which ensures our charity shops can operate allowing the charity to continue its important work.

**You**:
You will need at least 2 years’ driving experience. And either have or be willing and able to get a C1 on your license.

You will be able to effectively communicate with the Warehouse sorting team, Store Managers and Warehouse and Facilities Manager

You will be able to plan routes and communicate with stores.

Mercy in Action is a UK registered charity (1096068) working with children, their families and communities in the UK and the Philippines.

In the UK, our Petra Project provides nurturing homes for young mums and their babies and young people, who would otherwise be facing homelessness. In the Philippines, our work centres around helping children to regain lost years by providing residential care, a schooling program and a drop-in centre for street children. Our professional staff work tirelessly to reunite families and enable them to have a future together.

Our newest projects, the Clothesline and Action Pantry, provide food and clothing to local families.

Our growing network of Mercy in Action Charity shops raises essential funds for maintaining and expanding these projects, enabling us to support those most in need.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Ensure that collections & deliveries are completed on the day specified.
- Ensure orders are loaded and unloaded correctly, following current procedures.
- Ensuring all banking from shops is accounted for and securely transported to the head office.
- Drive safely and adhere to all current driving legislation to maintain a safe and healthy work environment.
