We currently have a vacancy for a Despatch, Goods In & Stores Assistant with the primary aspect of the role being on despatch, processing shipments on the system, organising delivery paperwork, picking & packing the goods and processing the UPS paperwork.

The role also requires the role holder to support the Stores and Goods-In functions for the Company’s operations and provide cover for that work when necessary, ensuring that the ‘larger/heavier’ goods are organised in the warehouse and machine shop for bulky deliveries.

Assisting with general maintenance work in and around the building as well as operating within the Production area with basic assembly of products will make up part of this role too.

The role holder needs to have a good level of fitness and capability, as there will be some repetitive lifting and manual movement of boxes/supplies around the building involved in this role as well as general labour work.

This is a very flexible role in a fast moving, manufacturing environment. The role holder will need to be adaptable and prepared to multi-task and move at short notice from one task to another. It is important that the role holder is presentable and competent in following instructions as well as being willing and capable of learning on the job.

**Key Responsibility of this role includes**:
**Despatch, Stores and Goods-In.**

a) Adhere to efficient and safe systems and procedures, suggesting improvements where necessary.

b) Pack and unpack goods. Accurately label and store goods in the allocated job boxes and storage area. Update inventories and stock counts.

c) Ensure the goods in/out areas are kept clean and tidy and maintain a safe working environment.

d) Load and offload goods and disperse them to the relevant locations within the building.

e) Maintain an accurate and efficient receipt and delivery of goods into and out of the building.

f) Inspect incoming deliveries and verify contents accuracy and quality. Ensure all non-conforming goods are quarantined and liaise with suppliers to rectify.

g) Ensure adherence to company policy/procedure with particular reference to Health & safety and Security.

h) Support other areas of the business when required, such as providing labour support to the Production team with the assembly of small electronic devices and cable cutting.

**General Building Maintenance**

a) Painting of internal and external areas as and when required and assist with building renovations and external Groundwork duties.

b) Ensure waste and re-cycling collection arrangements run smoothly.

c) Check functionality of safety & security systems (e.g. fire & security alarms).

d) Use own initiative when required to identify things that need to be repaired before they become a major concern.

e) Maintain records of Maintenance works and schedules.

**Experience, Skills & Knowledge requirements**:
**a) Essential**

(i) Experience in a warehouse or distribution operation.

(ii) Numeracy and literacy skills and computer literate.

(iii) Experience of ‘handy-person’ work or DIY projects.

(iv) A keen eye for detail and quality performance.

(v) Posses manual dexterity and physical stamina.

**b) Desirable**

(i) Experience using hand & electrical tools.

(ii) A working knowledge of general maintenance, plumbing and/or electrical systems & processes.

This role will be an on-site role, based at our Norton Canes manufacturing facility and there is currently no consideration for remote working.

Pay: From £11.44 per hour

Expected hours: 37.5 per week
