An outstanding opportunity has arisen for a Finance Director to lead the newly established division of a FTSE 100 property developer in Birmingham. With a reputation for excellence, and delivery in the sustainable re-development of brownfield sites thisoutstanding opportunity would suit someone looking for the first or second Finance Director appointment.

Reporting to the Regional Finance Director, the opportunity is a highly commercial position for an experienced, qualified accountant with a broad experience base to work with the lead directors, development team and other key staff to drive all financialaspects of the planning and delivery of the current and forthcoming sites due for development.

The finance function and Finance Director plays a pivotal role within the business. This encompasses setting strategic direction, through to cost control, risk mitigation and management of legal, HR and other operational matters as required.

**Key Responsibilities will include**:

- Leading board meetings and financial review of sites
- Managing, developing and growing a team
- Ownership of financial planning and oversight of revenue and cost reporting.
- Setting of annual budgets, and forecast updates for each site through 6-monthly stack updates.
- Ownership of revenue, profit and cash delivery. Liaison with other departments to ensure budgets are delivered.
- Oversight of commercial controls to ensure correct and accurate cost reporting.
- Cash control, including collection of receipts and timely payment of suppliers
- Management and reporting of key business risks including forward sales, customer deposit payments, procurement budgets, construction programmes and sales completions.
- Data analysis to highlight key business risks and mitigation strategies.
- Driving execution of commercial property sales, lettings and management of commercial tenants.
- Meeting with internal and external auditors.
- Resolution of legal matters, including appointment of solicitors and discussions with legal counsel and Group legal team as required.
- Oversight of anti-money laundering to ensure compliance and accurate record-keeping.
- Key point of contact for HR within the division, including headcount forecasting, collation of annual pay review information and approval of new members of staff.
- Oversight of charitable activities

**Person Requirements**
- ACA/CA/ACCA/CIMA Qualified with significant post qualified experience
- Leadership potential, comfortable leading, managing and growing teams
- Robust personality to operate at a Senior Management / Director level
- Superb communication skills, both verbal and written English, and the ability to write and prepare clear, high quality reports
- Sound technical accounting skills and strong familiarity with financial appraisal and business plan and modelling techniques

**Travel / Working Requirements**
- Opportunity with be primarily based in central Birmingham, with travel to sites underdevelopment in the city and M40 corridor.
- With Plc Headquarters being based in London, accessibility to London is also essential for board meetings, and initial on-boarding training and inductions
- Working from home flexibility is available although as a leadership role, this is predominantly and office / site based opportunity.
