**Main Responsibilites**
Ensure that the following are carried out at appropriate intervals in all areas of the Home/Care Centre (excluding those maintained by Kitchen Staff), in line with the Company’s attention to detail philosophy:
- Thorough cleaning of all areas.
- Dusting, vacuuming and washing down of all areas.
- Cleaning of all windows.
- Polishing of mirrors, brass plates on doors and furniture (as applicable).
- Dusting of all ledges, pictures, high areas and skirting boards.
- Shampooing of carpets.
- Cleaning of curtains and furniture.
- Move all mobile furniture (including beds and chairs) and vacuum and dust beneath / behind.
- Shake out cushions
- Clean taps, sinks, soap dishes and toothbrush holders.
- Spot clean all floorings
- Emptying / cleaning of waste bins.
- Restocking of toiletries, soaps, towels etc.
**Other Main Responsibilites**:
- Adhere to the Home/Care Centre’s disposal of waste policy.
- Report immediately to the Housekeeper, or Person in Charge, any illness of an infectious nature or accident incurred by a resident, colleague, self or another.
- Understand and ensure the implementation of the Home/Care Centre’s Health and Safety policy, and Emergency and Fire procedures.
- Report to the Housekeeper, or the Handyperson, any faulty appliances, damaged furniture, equipment or any potential hazard.
- Promote safe working practice in the Home/Care Centre.
- Promote and ensure the good reputation of the Home/Care Centre.
- Ensure that all information of confidential nature gained in the course of duty is not divulged to third parties.
- Notify the Housekeeper, or the Person in Charge, as soon as possible of your inability to report for duty, and also on your return to work from all periods of absence.
- To make sure that COSHH regulations are displayed and that staff are made aware.
- To ensure that cleaning fluids are dispensed appropriately to the instructions.
- Ensure the security of the Home/Care Centre is maintained at all times.
- Adhere to all Company policies and procedures within the defined timescales.
- Ensure all equipment is clean and well maintained.
- To carry out other reasonable duties as well, from time to time as directed by the management team.
**Professional Development and Training**
- Attend / Participate in Staff and Resident meetings as required.
- Liaise with the Housekeeper regarding COSHH training.
- Shadow new Staff Members in all aspects of their work in the Home/ Care Centre, giving help and guidance where appropriate.
- Attend all mandatory training days/courses, on or off site, as and when required
- Maintain professional knowledge and competence.
- To participate in the staff appraisal system.
**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent
**Salary**: £10.42 per hour
Expected hours: 12 per week
