This is an exciting opportunity for 2 part-time mental health support workers to join a vibrant and developing recovery focused, creative service.

Recovery Pathways is a Trust citywide service. Through creative and wellbeing themed practise that is delivered in supportive settings, it aims to build confidence and skills, enable personal recovery from mental distress and support access to moving on. The service offers activities and support at a variety of venues in the following areas: Arts, Woodwork, Gardening, Occupational Therapy, volunteering, employment and Arts for Good Health courses.

The Support Worker role is to work as a key member of the Recovery Pathways team by offering support, information and expertise in assisting tutors to deliver wellbeing sessions at a variety of locations across Manchester. The post holder will be a self-motivated individual with a positive attitude. The role is also to develop your knowledge, skills and competencies to support service delivery and provide opportunities to improve the experience for service users individual mental health needs in line with their agreed goals. Covering North, South and Central areas, the role is to work flexibly and responsively to provide support and assistance to staff, service users and the service as a whole.

The post holders will be based at the different Recovery Pathways sites including Start (Hulme), Studio One (Wythenshawe), Green Wellbeing (multi-sites) and Benchmark (Monsall).

Recovery Pathways is a creative wellbeing service for adults over the age of 18 and above experiencing mental health and wellbeing difficulties. The service receives referrals from across the Manchester footprint of GMMH.

The post holders will be working as part of a multidisciplinary team alongside another support worker and including Lead Wellbeing Artists, an Occupational Therapist and Wellbeing Arts Tutors.

Recovery Pathways is a community based creative wellbeing service offering recovery focused support to individuals via creative sessions.

The post holders will receive regular line management and clinical supervision and annual appraisal.

Duty/Responsibility

Recovery Focused Skills and Abilities
- To support and motivate service users to attend and take part in service activities which promote their recovery and independence
- To support other team members to deliver recovery focused sessions at a variety of venues across Manchester
- To work in partnership with other professionals/agencies to ensure that service users’ needs are met.
- To assist in the review process to support service users recovery journey
- To support the monitoring of service users’ progress and recording processes in clinical records
- To actively engage with individuals on a one to one basis and in group settings.
- To assist in planning, delivering and evaluating programmes and courses with clear wellbeing outcomes
- Promote recovery by establishing and maintaining therapeutic alliances with individuals or groups of service users

Service Development
- To promote and actively encourage service user and carer engagement to evaluate and enhance service delivery and involvement in the planning and delivery of services
- Participate in and contribute to, service developments and tasks relating to service evaluation as and when required.
- To actively engage in service improvement by reflecting on and developing own practice

- Safeguard the health and wellbeing of all service users by ensuring that all concerns are reported
- To ensure a safe environment for service users, colleagues and visitors in accordance with the Trust Health & Safety Policy
