**JOB TITLE: Senior Operative**

**REPORTING TO: Cleaning Manager**

**LOCATION: St Enoch Shopping Centre, Glasgow**

**CONTRACT: Permanent**

**HOURS: 37.5 hours per week**

**SHIFT PATTERN: 5 over 7 including weekends**

**PAY RATE: £10.28 per hour**

**ROLE OVERVIEW AND PURPOSE**

As a Cleaning Senior Operative, you will be responsible for all day to day aspects relating to the management and maintenance of the cleaning service on site. You will need to provide sufficient cover and allocate cleaning tasks during periods of staff absence or holidays, monitor cleaning operatives’ attendance, communicate any staffing issues immediately to your cleaning manager and respond to all requests within a reasonable time frame as required.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Carry out daily cleaning duties front and back of house
- Working in a very busy foodcourt ensuing high level of cleaning standards
- Ensure all operatives always carry out their duties to the standards required
- To be accountable for the planning, organization and control of staff at the site you are responsible for.
- Be familiar and ensure all staff are with emergency, late and sickness procedures for St Enoch
- Ensure particular control of new recruits as part of emergency preparedness
- To exercise effective staff control and create a willing and effective workforce.
- To train and performance manage the ABM team on an ongoing basis ensuring all staff are competent in their duties through assessments, the results of which are recorded.
- To ensure that work conforms to the specification at the quality levels that will achieve customer satisfaction.
- To implement and check the quality of any corrective action necessary.
- Day to day liaison with the Manager on a range of service delivery matters.
- To carry out cleaning assignment responsibilities as designated by the Manager.
- Complete building inductions & training for all Cleaning Operatives.
- Ensure that all team members are familiar with and adhere to the Company’s Policies and

Procedures.
- Conduct quality audits
- Complete HR related tasks for the staff under your control as agreed with the Manager

**REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE**
- Previous cleaning experience with focus on unsupervised work and prioritising workload
- Strong customer service/care and leadership skills
- Must be a good leader, able to motivate staff and able to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Problem solving and time management skills desired
- Ability to work to set schedules and on own initiative
- Understanding & knowledge of health and safety policies
- Needs to represent ABM values on site by being presentable, uniformed, and helpful at all times Willing to go the extra mile
- Experience of co-ordinating a range of tasks and individuals
- Follow the Company Policies and procedures at all times
- Being able to provide training to staff
- Ensure that the work environment and equipment are safe and well maintained
- Identify and correct hazardous conditions
