This is a new post to support diagnostic and core activity as well as DGH level paediatric activity within the department together with providing 1:11 duty week. It is expected that some sessions will be worked flexibly to cover vacant theatre / clinic sessions as a result of other consultants leave / on call duty. The on-call commitment is 1:11 weekends and nights. There is a middle grade on call rota providing 24/7 cover.

It is anticipated that you will deliver Core activity, with sessions on both the Chorley and Preston sites.

An interest in core paediatric urology would be desirable and training / mentoring can be provided.

You will be expected to take an equitable share of the work in the department, including cover of consultant colleagues where necessary owing to leave commitments.

The existing consultants have a special interest in female urology, bladder dysfunction, andrology, endourology/laparoscopy, paediatrics and oncology.

All consultants are expected to work productively for 42 weeks a year and will be required to undertake annual appraisal, revalidation and job planning within their allocated contractual SPA time (1.5 SPA per week). Any SPA activity over 1.5 will be in line with the trust SPA tariff and will be reviewed 3 months from appointment and as part of the annual job planning process.

There is the potential for additional PAs both DCC and SPA dependent on job plan review.
