As a Category Assistant you will play a pivotal role in setting up the department for success. Supporting our Category Team across all elements of the Buying Process, but taking real ownership of all the fundamental administrative and analytical tasks that are the foundation of what we do. In particular you will support the Pricing and Promotional plan, plus assist the team in the end to end product process, from helping to identify gaps in the range, monitoring the market to managing the launch of ranges and products through our systems.

A key cog within the team, you will need to be a self starter who can work autonomously, confidently handling large data sets and managing fast paced and reactive priorities, an affinity for Excel and Reporting systems is a must

**The Role**

**Key Responsibilities**
- Supporting the team with all aspects of the promotional process, ensuring an excellent level of detail, and on-time delivery
- Producing weekly/monthly analysis and reviews for in-season trading performance of categories to identify opportunities to improve commercial performance
- Liaising with suppliers to progress branded and own label product requirements as discussed with the Category Manager
- Ensuring that all administration and data input relating to product information, cost prices and supplier details are accurately maintained
- Continuously support the monitoring of competitor activity and the marketplace.
- To assist in the management of the critical path to deliver range reviews within agreed timescales
- Owning the invoicing process, and dealing with any supplier queries
- Implementing and owning processes to ensure effective ways of working.

**Location: Hybrid role with 2 days based in Nuneaton Head Office.**

- Good level of numerical and analytical skills with a keen eye for detail.

- Able to build relationships with both suppliers and internal multi-discipline team.
