Job Purpose

The Registrar plays a pivotal role, responsible for devising the strategic planning and efficient management and administration of pupil recruitment for the School working as part of the Admissions and Marketing Department The Registrar plays an integral and active part in promoting Malvern St James and in continuing to implement appropriate strategies to drive recruitment. The Registrar will be sales focused and has responsibility for pupil recruitment and the admissions process. They will build strong and lasting relationships with prospective parents and pupils, and agents, delivering on objectives to ensure the School operates at full capacity. They will ensure that all enquirers and applicants receive a positive impression of the school and an outstanding customer journey. Working alongside the Head of Marketing, the role will also involve close liaison with the Head, Senior Deputy Head, the Director of Development, Director of Boarding, Deputy Head Academic, the Director of Finance, Heads of Year, and academic and pastoral members of staff.

**Key Responsibilities**

**Manage the School’s Admissions function**
- Understand the Schools’ 3-18 market at home and abroad in order to position the School in the most successful way to support effective recruitment in line with key targets
- Provide leadership and vision to ensure that the School’s admissions practices and

procedures are up to date, compliant with all relevant regulations and effectively

implemented and that they are seen as dynamic systems that are continually kept under active review.
- Be the first point of contact for all enquiries whether personally or via the Assistant Registrar Admissions and Outreach officer
- Build and maintain for as long as necessary an inclusive relationship between the
- School and prospective families, identifying any point of interest, ensuring that swift
- communication is employed, and ultimately recruiting the pupil and family to MSJ
- Gather comprehensive information about each contact with a family in order that
- the admissions database can be kept up-to-date throughout the entire process.
- Log all enquiries on the School’s Management Information System
- Maintain effective tracking of new enquiries/applicants through each stage of the
- Oversee the preparation of all admissions-related correspondence and information
- Liaise with appropriate academic and House staff to ensure that information relevant to the admissions process is obtained and communicated in a timely and confidential manner
- Manage the offer process in consultation with the Head
- Ensure full and complete admissions paperwork is in place for all entrants working closely with the relevant members of the administration team.
- Ensuring that Admissions is aware at all times of Boarding capacity, through close liaison with Houses.
- Provide the Head and Director of Finance with weekly Admissions reports, tracking key data for pupil recruitment, including performance against agreed targets and statistical data regarding the School

Track and report on the Admissions pipeline and work with the Head to transition families along the pipeline stages

Pay: £45,000.00 per year
