**Position Overview**:
To procure all materials and services required in a timely manner ensuring material/services are received in line with requirements.

**Key areas of responsibility**:

- Responsibility for all items being purchased.
- Raising of purchase orders relating to Production orders/ Purchase requisitions.
- Negotiating for overall price.
- Controlling company service contracts.
- Ensure all Purchase Orders are raised and expedited from supplier’s premises on time.
- Preparation of Product Price Variance report.
- Vendor performance reporting
- Development of alternative source for critical items for business
- Preparation of price per ton for wire and strand for sales.
- Lead time indication on different suppliers.
- Purchase of right material at right time of right quality for Manufacturing, Engineering, Packaging Reels, lubricant, and all other items required.
- Compliance of month end timetables.
- Correspondence and resolution of Reject notes with Supplier’s.
- To liaise with the quality / technical department regarding manufacturing specifications and special manufacturing requirements.

**Other Responsibilities**
- Ensure that safe working practices are always maintained.
- To work within the company rules and conform to the published Staff Terms and Conditions, always observing the rules on Disclosure of information.
- To carry out any other reasonable task you are capable of and trained to carry out to enable the business needs to be met.
- To provide skeleton cover for the Planning and Control function during periods of absence.

- Full functional areas of the business including stock control, forecasting and key stakeholder updates.

**Training**:

- Training will be given for all function in the role including all process training which is necessary for the function.
- The employee will benefit from having completed an in-house training in various disciplines related to the job role.

**Requirements**:
**Desirable Qualifications, Experience, training**
- Should have a background in Business administration and Engineering. A level or higher qualification desirable.
- Should be able to demonstrate both integrity and ingenuity when carrying out duties.
- Should be able to demonstrate good supervisory skills.
- Should have in depth knowledge of planning system.
- Should have in depth knowledge of stock control.
- Should have a good understanding of the raw materials order processing system.
- Should have a good understanding of the manufacturing process, machine capability, manpower etc.
- Should be able to demonstrate both integrity and ingenuity when carrying out duties.
- Computer literate, with a good knowledge of working with Excel/spreadsheets.
- Ability to communicate at all levels and to work to deadlines.
- A hands-on, proactive approach with a desire to make a major contribution to the business.
