The Wigan Early Intervention Team are looking to recruit an enthusiastic Band 8a Clinical Psychologist/Senior Psychological Therapist, to work with service users aged 14 - 65 years of age who are experiencing a first episode of psychosis.

You will be joining an existing multi-disciplinary team consisting of Psychiatrist, Senior Nurse Practitioners, Occupational Therapist, CBTp practitioners, Assistant Psychologist and STR workers. We will work with our community and other community-based care team colleagues to offer high quality patient centred care.

The post will predominantly focus on working with individuals aged 14 - 65 years who are experiencing a first episode of psychosis, the individuals accessing the service generally experience co-morbid mental health difficulties, including but not limited to trauma, low mood, anxiety, Bi-polar disorder and Personality Disorders. The role will include offering individual assessment, formulation and intervention, also offering support to the Extended Assessment pathways within the service. The aim is to provide effective formulation and treatment to enhance the patient journey through clinical pathways.

The post will also support the development of clinical care pathways through service development and evaluation.

- Responsible for the systematic provision of specialist psychological service for people suffering primarily from complex mental health problems.
- To provide services that meet the agreed service priorities in line with practitioner experience and expertise.
- The development and implementation of specialist psychological assessment and intervention strategies including clinical casework.
- Provision of consultancy work generally for the assurance of quality in the use of psychological methods by other team members.
- To ensure appropriate supervision and professional development is a core theme in practice.
