Finance Manager
**Aspire Property Group is one of the most exciting & fast-growing property businesses in Yorkshire. We specialise in property sales to investors across the world. As we go through an impressive period of growth, we are looking to welcome a new motivated and dedicated Finance Manager to join our fantastic management team and grow and develop the finance team.**
**What is the role?**
As our Finance Officer you will deliver high quality, professional and efficient finance and accountancy support for the whole organisation, along with supporting the continuous improvement agenda of the team. You will assist in the production of annual budgets, financial accounts, and the medium-term Financial Strategy, as well as other manageable requests. You will support the Finance assistant, allocate work and provide management reports to the Directors and senior management team.
**Who we are looking for**:
Experience in the property sector is preferable but not essential.
**Job role includes (but is not limited to)**:
- Working with Directors, department managers and your team, you will conduct day to day accounting formalities and reporting with a key emphasis on improving efficiencies and day to day procedures.
- Monitor financial performance, interpret, and identify trends and make recommendations to the business.
- Lead the forecasting process for the business and review the operational assumptions with the management team.
- Provide ad hoc analysis to support future performance.
- Review cash forecasts before submission to the Directors and Finance Director.
- Ensure accounting and the financial control procedures are in line with best practice and policies which you will help build and improve.
- Directly manage the Finance team, supporting their development, learning and advancement.
**What you will have**:
- Considerable post-qualified experience gained from both business finance/performance roles and accounting & financial control roles.
- Incredibly well organised, ambitious, and meticulous attention to detail.
- A positive, solutions focussed attitude and the ability to use initiative and work autonomously in line with the company culture.
- The ability to work as part of a wider management team
**Requirements**:
- Excellent and clear communication skills
- Trustworthy
- Organised and able to keep on top of work in a consistent, sustained manner
- Ability to work well under pressure
- Adaptable and able to use initiative where needed
- Excellent multitasker
- Ability to work well with and understand numbers
- Understanding of Xero or similar industry software
- 3 years Finance Manager experience
**Experience must include**:
- Financial accounting and leading month end close.
- Evidence of responding to and working with external auditors.
- Providing analysis, forecasting and planning.
- Supporting and challenging businesses to make optimal operational and performance decisions.
**Experience may include**:
- Business risk management, external audit, systems implementations.
- Financial support for business deals (e.g. new contracts, M&A, Joint Ventures)
- Experience of successfully leading and developing a team.
- Working with Xero accounting system or similar
