**Scala Engineer**:

As a Scala Engineer you will have the opportunity to develop your skills further while working with business teams for a national sized business in the technology sector.

Salary
- £65,000

**As a Scala Engineer you will be required to have**:

- 5+ years software development experience
- 2+ year experience in Scala, Akka, Kafka, Docker and MySQL
- Knowledge of SQL and relational data modelling
- Experience with designing and delivering new services and significant functionality
changes
- Unix/Linux Experience

**Challenges/ Opportunities required for this Scala Engineer role**:

- Develop innovative ways to efficiently reduce large datasets to be viewed on the UI
- Work with Product owners and clients to convert complex business problems into technical solutions
- Gain an understanding of the complex technical structure of the client's services, starting initially at the top level, but with increasing depth over time.
- Develop a clear understanding of business complexities specific to the Securities Lending / REPO / Equity Finance markets
- Ensure it continues to deliver exceptional client service. (e.g. by being flexible, having a "can do" approach, making data integration easy, understanding client issues)
- Proactively interact with colleagues - requesting and providing guidance, help and mentoring as
appropriate
