**About the Role**:
Caradoc Surgery in Frinton-on-Sea are looking to hire a part-time research administrator. The role is 22.5 hours per week, with 15 hours supporting the research nurse and 7.5 hours on general practice administration.

The purpose of the role is to provide administrative support to the research team. The main responsibilities will involve administration work including the creation and maintenance of files for clinical trials, running system database searches for mail-outs, assisting in clinical trial data collection and entry, maintenance of databases of trial activity, and identifying and recruiting patients to clinical trials.

Primary Responsibilities:

- Run system database searches for mail-outs to invite patients to participate.
- Ownership/management of the study management tool (Edge) which includes inputting and checking data, populating recruitment figures and general maintenance.
- Manage the distribution of study information to relevant individuals for their consideration. Managing the practice responses, answering questions and linking with the study teams as necessary. Proactively following-up study roll-out and chasing replies, both autonomously and, from time-to-time, under instruction.
- Co-ordinate nurse clinics to optimise nurse availability to maximise patient recruitment. Organise and maintain an up-to-date filing system.
- Support the research lead with the co-ordination of the contracts sign off process and other related project work, as required.
- Attend site initiation visits to identify and support each study accordingly.
- Disseminate publicity posters and flyers, etc., and place them on the appropriate notice boards. Liaise with others, to advertise appropriately, using wider network advertising.
- Ensure all urgent and/or confidential communications are received and distributed from/to the relevant parties in a timely manner.

Key qualifications, skills and experience:

- Educated to GCSE level or equivalent
- GCSE mathematics & English (C or above)- Experience of working with the general public- Experience of administrative / receptionist duties
- Experience of working in a health care setting
- Excellent communication skills (written and oral)
- Strong IT skills
- Clear, polite telephone manner
- Competent in the use of Office and Outlook
- Effective time management (Planning & Organising)
- Ability to work as a team member and autonomously
- Good interpersonal skills
- Problem solving & analytical skills
- Ability to follow policy and procedure

**About Us**:
Caradoc Surgery is part of the Ranworth PCN. The PCN comprises, Ranworth Surgery in Clacton on Sea, Green Elms Health Centre in Jaywick, Kennedy Way Medical Centre in Holland on Sea and Caradoc Surgery in Frinton on Sea.

We have a patient population of around 32,000 patients and all practices work on SystmOne. The patient population group is diverse and we use SystmOne.
