Sheffield, United Kingdom Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust Full time

There is no upper age limit on joining us as an apprentice.

You will work in the breast screening and symptomatic breast service in Sheffield to assist other members of the Breast Imaging Multidisciplinary Imaging Team in delivering a high standard of direct patient care and associated duties.

You will undertake a limited range of radiographic procedures including mammography under the supervision of a State Registered Radiographer within a documented scheme of work.

Part of the role is to ensure that safe practice is carried out in accordance with departmental protocols at all times.

You will be working for an organisation which values and respects all of its staff and the community it serves. The Trust is a leader in the NHS and research sectors and provides excellent benefits for its staff. This includes commitments to professional development but also many policies to support employees in balancing their personal and professional lives.

The department provides a high quality, responsive Breast imaging service for population screening and the symptomatic breast service in a safe and pleasant environment, delivering the highest standard of patient care which addresses clinical and holistic needs.

The department responds efficiently and maintains NHSBSP targets for the expanding screening population of Sheffield which is currently 80,000 and meets the 28 day standard for symptomatic breast assessment.

We develop and maintain excellent multi-disciplinary working relationships, which will provide an excellent service for the women of Sheffield.

This vacancy is advertised on a fixed term contract basis for a period of 18 months due to this being an apprenticeship/training programme. The fixed term contract status of the post holder will be reviewed in accordance with the Trust's legal obligations regarding fixed term contracts.

A learner/applicant must be a UK, EEA, or EU resident for at least the past three years to undertake an apprenticeship training programme.
