We have an exceptional opportunity for a passionate and committed individual to join the Hospice in the Weald team based in Pembury.

Hospice in the Weald has provided dedicated holistic care and support for adults facing terminal illness for over 40 years, and we have recently had the addition of our Children and Young Peoples service, providing bespoke care for younger individuals and their families needing specialised support.

As the Time to Be Service Coordinator you will be responsible for leading and managing an amazing team of volunteers who provide support in the form of one-to-one and group sessions across the Hospice and within people’s homes.

Time to Be is a unique service offering support to patients and those that are important to them, at a very difficult time in their lives. The sessions offered are a mix of conversation, holding space and simple relaxation techniques, and most importantly, client led.

This new role will also involve developing integrated community support, such as bereavement groups and the provision of Death Literacy information and events. Using the team of trained volunteers to engage in meaningful way with our communities to build a more death literate society.

You will also be expected to hold a small caseload to inform the work you do supporting the team. Working closely with Hospice colleagues you will be the initial contact and carry out assessments for the service. You will be able to work autonomously within the overall framework of the Hospice’s policies and procedures and need to have exceptional communication skills. Working closely with colleagues as part of the multidisciplinary team you will have the opportunity to provide the best possible support for those under our care.
