Apprentice Health Records Clerical Officer

Main Duties and Responsibilities The post holder will be part of a team of staff who organise and provide all records functions within the Health Records Department. The main focus of this role will be to support the Evolve Team, who index, sort, electronically scan and quality check patients records. Ensure availability of health records as and when required. Ensure the Trust standard required for the quality of the health records is maintained.
Provide a Health Records Archiving service for the Trust. Re file the notes, whilst maintaining the libraries. Undertaking other general administration required to support the department You will be responsible for providing a full clerical support service within the Health Records Department. The focus of the role will be undertaking all process within the clinic preparation and reception Team.
Covering various busy receptions throughout the Trust, although training in other areas of the department will be provided.The post holder will be trained in all areas to provide excellent patient care in our outpatient areas, as well as the preparation of clinical notes. Computer literacy and experience in the accurate inputting of data is an essential requirement for this post as are organisational skills. Previous reception or customer patient focused experiencewould be advantageous. Methodical method of working and a keen eye for detail is crucial to this role.
Being flexible and adaptable to change is crucial to this role. Training on in-house information systems, however, will be provided. Previous NHS experience would be an advantage but not essential. DESCRIPTION OF APPRENTICESHIP PROGRAMME The post holder will be supported to achieve an Apprenticeship in Business Administration Level 3.
Through academic and work place activities, the post holder will develop the skills required in the job description, to work in a quality driven, responsive and customer orientated department. An external assessor will carry out observations in the workplace to assess practical competence. All apprenticeship standards have End-point assessment (EPA). End-Point Assessments will involve an independent assessor carrying out final assessments with the apprentice, to ensure that the competences and learning within the 'Apprenticeship Standard' have been met.
Apprentices can achieve a pass, merit or distinction dependent on how well they perform in their End-Point Assessment. You will be required to commit to the apprenticeship training study requirements and complete the training activities and assessments, in given timescales. As an apprentice of Business Administration, you will undertake a range of on and off the job training activities as part of a structured programme.
