Great Yarmouth, United Kingdom Norfolk County Council Full time

**3 posts | 1 x permanent contract, 2 x temporary contracts until 31 March 2024 | 37 hours per week | £30,151 to £32,020 per annum (Grade H) | Great Yarmouth**

Children’s Services are seeking to recruit experienced Family Practitioners for our Family Support Teams based in Great Yarmouth.

Our purpose in Family Support is to keep children and young people safe through early intervention to prevent the need for statutory involvement. We do this working alongside the family, their network and other professionals naming and addressing worries, creating plans which identify the support needed to achieve positive outcomes and empower the family to effect change.

As a Family Practitioner you will use your knowledge and skills to complete direct work and interventions using a range of resources with the children on your caseload to ensure you are capturing how life is like for them and to improve outcomes.

The role of a Family Practitioner is varied and at times can be challenging so a high level of resilience is needed. It is fast paced so you will need to be flexible, use your initiative and skill set to manage your workload. A family’s needs and situation can change so you will need to be able to prioritise, adapt your practice and remain calm in difficult situations.

Family Support is a strengths-based service where the child is at the centre of our work, their voice and views are the most important. You will need to be able to identify and understand risk and keep this under review throughout the case.

In this role, you will need good IT skills (being proficient in Word, Excel and databases) and be able to communicate effectively at all levels.

We want our people to be inspired and motivated to work well together, make the most of our workspaces, enjoy a healthy work-life balance, and deliver excellent services to Norfolk and its people. Flexibility is built into the way we work, with hybrid working a key feature for many roles. Our technology platform and equipment are first class, enabling you to connect and collaborate remotely. We ask that you have in place good Broadband connectivity.

You can also find out about the rewards and benefits we offer as well as our other terms and conditions.

**Closing date: 20 March 2023 at 23:59**

We have miles of beautiful coastline and our unique Broads, thriving market towns and a city with a proud cultural heritage. Our economy is growing and driven by innovation in a number of sectors, including energy and food. We also have ambitious plans for new housing and a building programme for schools across Norfolk. Our county a great place to live, work and visit, and is an excellent environment for businesses to start, grow and innovate.

We are the main local authority for Norfolk providing services countywide to more than 850,000 Norfolk residents. We take the lead in critical policy areas, working with 84 elected Members responsible for the strategic local government services in the county.

We provide a high quality service through involving people who use our services to shape and comment on them and by promoting efficiency and innovation.

We work in partnership with local businesses, voluntary organisations and other local authorities such as District and Parish Councils to provide the people of Norfolk with excellent services.
